Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell anything, and there are no accounts.

This page explains our policies in plain language for general information. It is a summary of how ToastPetal works and does not constitute legal advice.

What we collect

  • What you type into the intake form — names, your relationship, your stories, and your preferences. This is what the speech is written from.
  • The speech text produced, and any edits you make to it.
  • Payment records from Stripe: a session identifier, the plan you bought and the timestamp. We never see or store your card details.
  • A salted, one-way hash of your IP address, used only to count free previews and free tool usage. We do not store raw IP addresses.
  • Aggregate, non-identifying analytics via Vercel Analytics, and conversion events via the Meta Pixel if you arrived from an ad.

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number anywhere on the site. Stripe collects an email address for your receipt; that record lives with Stripe.

Who we share it with

  • OpenAI — receives your intake text and speech text in order to generate and revise your speech. Nothing else is sent.
  • Stripe — processes payment and holds the billing record.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and the database.
  • Meta — receives conversion events (preview generated, checkout started, purchase completed) if a Meta Pixel ID is configured. Speech content is never sent to Meta.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share your speech content with anyone else, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

Drafts and speeches are retained so that you can return to your workspace and re-download after expiry. IP hashes used for rate limiting are only meaningful for 24 hours. You can ask us to delete everything associated with your purchase at any time — see the data deletion page.

Cookies and tracking

We use no advertising cookies of our own. The Meta Pixel, where enabled, sets its own cookies. Your intake answers and teleprompter text are stored in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device unless you submit the form. Our cookie policy has the detail.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither). Email hello@toastpetal.com and we will action any request within 30 days. Because there are no accounts, we may ask for your payment email or workspace link to identify your records.

Children

ToastPetal is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16.
